Why run with us?
The Tent City Marathon team has put together an unforgettable race experience! With free race photos, finisher's beer or cupcakes, on-course entertainment, multiple on-course aid stations and a racers TLC tent for Post Mileage Yoga, foam roller area, and massage. The Tent City Marathon is sure to be a memorable and fun time on California's beautiful central coast. We are also an official USATF Sanctioned Event. This is not a Boston Qualifier. B.Q.’s are designated by an official USATF Certified Course - which we hope to be in the near future!
Not only does this event feature a decked out course with beautiful rolling hills, but it’s also a fundraiser for The Atascadero Printery Foundation, a group dedicated to preserving and rehabilitating Atascadero's historic Printery Building into a community center for the Arts and Sciences. This makes you a badass that cares.
Our race expo is located in Atascadero's beautiful Sunken Gardens, and offers local beer, local good eats, and the latest in running fitness resources. We have a TLC tent for post race stretching and massage. This expo isn’t just for the racers it’s also for the spectators to have fun!
Our Celebrity Athletes
Meet Rob Newton! Rob has gone from a virtual non-runner to a 100-mile veteran! He has run 18 races, including 11 ultra marathons, while qualifying for Western States 100 twice and the prestigious Ultra Trail Du Mont Blanc. BUT! That’s not the only reason Rob is of celebrity status for the Tent City Marathon! He has created a project called Pushing 4 Change. His five year project has chronicled his journey into the world of ultra endurance with a focus on animal welfare. Rob runs to raise funds for animal-specific causes around the world in hopes to both inspire others to follow this passion and bring about positive change.
